NA 021 Iron and Steel Standards Committee

The Iron and Steel Standards Committee (FES) is responsible for representing German interests in the worldwide and regional iron and steel standardization in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and in the European Committee for Iron and Steel Standardization (ECISS) as well as elaboration of the relevant national standards (DIN). Its tasks include, in particular, the elaboration of standards for the delivery conditions, quality, dimensions and definitions of all products, raw materials and processes of the iron and steel industry. Further, the scope includes product-specific test standards, as far as they are not excluded by agreements with other standardization committees, and elaboration of standards for the determination of the chemical composition of iron and steel.
