Abstract
This European Standard specifies requirements and definitions for stainless steel used for the reinforcement of concrete structures, delivered as products in the form of bars, coils (rod), wire and de-coiled products as well as welded mesh or lattice girders.
Steels according to this European Standard have a ribbed or smooth surface.
This European Standard does not apply to pre-stressed stainless steels, indented strip, indented bar, stainless steel tube filled with carbon steel swarf, which is then hot or cold reduced, stainless steel smooth bar with weld material deposited on it, further processing, e.g. cutting, or cutting and bending.
The circumstances in which stainless steel reinforcing bar may be used are described in an Annex.
